Release Confidence

Release Confidence

Sometimes, a team find themselves working towards a fixed deadline in time for a specific release or deliverable. As a compliment to a Release Burndown (or Burnup) you can do a weekly confidence votes with a fist of five on the likelihood of making the deadline. Five fingers signals total confidence. One finger means “No way, we won’t make it”.

It’s perfectly normal to be sceptic (or overly optimistic) about the chance of the success early on. The important thing is to discuss what made people change their vote from last week, as well as changes in trends.

The weekly average can also be plotted in a graph.
